We started late with our trip to Texas as we didn’t leave till February. I was so happy to finally hit the road we drove 758 miles the first day. Woke up to 4 inches of snow WOW. Well we are from the snow belt so no problem. Texas was Great I visited with my Aunt & Uncle and my Cousins and of course Blondie !!!  We travel to a lot of places in Texas I really Loved this life style too as a Gypsy.100_1900100_1902

We got home in May as we had to finish the Basement apartment. We had some workers getting everything ready.  Took delivery of our new Amish Cabinets WOW they look great. We moved down stairs in July and I love it. 100_2316

We were back on the road in August for four weeks. We went to three rally there. I learned a lot of good stuff at those rallies. Thanks to a lot of smart people. Marti took a driving school where she learned to drive the truck and trailer. Heck she can back the rig up better than me. I’m thinking Marti will get some seat time in Alaska next year too. Maybe on the Ice Road too.

Come the end of October we were off to New Orleans. We stopped for a couple days in Tunica Ms.they are noted for the Casinos. I donated to the slot machines, but had fun. We had a great trip as we toured the Big Easy. I guess the best way to say it was It Was Different Big time!!DSCN0206

We got back for some Dr. appointments the Sad news was Marti’s Cancer had returned. They suddenly I lost my Best Friend of 46 years Ron E Boy.

Marti has had the Cancer removed and had some Chemo treatments we are hoping the Cancer goes away.100_1414

We look forward to the Christmas Holidays being home with Friends & Family. Of course I look forward to getting the Heck out of here too.   We have planned to spend more time in the 5th wheel next year as looking at some in Texas this winter. Then a quick trip to Alaska. Ok we are planning our trip for some four months. With 3 months in Alaska!!!

Ok I’m Done !!! Now your Job is to Leave a Comment !!!!

Loss of My Best Friend Ron E Boy

100_2259P1010260P1010272

100_2244P1010260100_2251

Well then late Wednesday night that I lost my Best Friend of 46 yrs. Ron Cernaskuas  and I went to Richards High School. Ron and I hung around everyday in school. Then Ron got Drafted, We a laughed when I got Drafted on Ron's birthday. We both went to Viet Nam and returned to life in the Good Old USA.

We always talked but not as much lately. Then in the ninety's we moved closer to Ron and his new wife Mary. Together they had opened a Trucking Company and worked together as Partners. The two of them joked back in forth all the time. They are two of the Hardest Working people I know. Ron truley met the Love of his life as him and Mary were two Love Birds.

Ron would always say Ruddy (some stupid nickname he tagged on me some 46 yrs ago) I work 24/7 !! I always asked how do you do that when on vacation his answer was "he did".

Ron was friend to everyone and liked by all !! He enjoyed golfing and always liked playing cards. Of course Winning was always important too as Ronnie hated to lose. Heck he hated to lose in Dominioes too. I seemed to always lose. Ron would always do a victory dance.

Well when I got sick (Heart Attack) Ron & Mary were at the Hospital every day. I had a new value for friends as I almost shook the Death Rattle. After I retired Ron would call me almost every day. The wife's would always laugh that were like two old lady's. I would give anything to here the phone ring again.

.

Ron you will be missed by all.

Five Times a Charm (I Hope & Pray)

100_2097

Well we came back from New Orleans as we need to get some Dr. check ups. Well Marti had to go in for her six month Cancer check-up as I sat in the waiting room (I Prayer for Good Results) I always look for a Smile or a Frown as Marti comes out of the office. Today I got a Frown as the Cancer had come back. I think my heart skips a beat as I learn the news. I know that Marti has a great out look to fight this dreaded disease. Well on December 8 Marti goes in for surgery and this time Chemo.

Marti told the Dr. that she needed this surgery ASAP as she needed to get to Texas. WOW that’s my girl !! Marti will Fight This Battle as she has before with a winners altitude.

We toured the River walk area for Shopping a good time was had by some. We all had a nice dinner at the Hard Rock of New Orleans. We also toured a Plantation that dated back in the slavery days. One fact I didn’t know was some slavers owned slavers. I was surprised to learn that too. I wanted to visit a cemetery as the bodies are buried above ground in vaults. The cemetery we visited was some 150 plus years old, with a lot of history.

We toured Bourbon  Street that was really some trip too. There were some really different people too. The French Quarter was an experience as they call it the City that Care Forgot.

We had a total of four days in Nor Linz (local slang) so we must come back. I want to spend a month or more down there to see more.

Ok I’m Bust-in my butt here so leave a Message Tanks Wayne

Living A Dream

Well today I was thinking. (yes I do that sometimes) Boy O Boy are we lucky to be able to have the lifestyle we do. There are times when we have to pinch ourselves. We have been able to Live our Dream to travel this Great Country and see some really neat things too. I can’t remember how many people we have met and some real characters' too. Marti and I laugh at what a great life we have as we drive all over America.

  TEXAS 2010 052

Texas 2 015

We have been to some great rallies too. Ok at some rallies they have some educational seminars (yes you can teach an Old Dog some new tricks) I haven’t learned to put my dirty cloths in the hamper yet. I did learn how to write a blog and a couple other neat things. I have learned Fire Safety, Towing Safety,& some other neat stuff.

Thinking back we have traveled in seven states and will change that big time next year. Our plans are to head to Texas for the winter again and Alaska for the summer, along with a trip to New Orleans in two weeks.

100_2146

There are times that we feel guilty about our life. We feel that some people are jealous that we travel. Then I remember that working construction you don’t get paid vacations or holidays paid. I guess it’s my time as a lot of people have five or six weeks vacation a year W O W !!!  So we’re off again o’well.

Just Waiting Again

Well we are waiting again for some Beautiful Amish made furniture. My screw up again when we ordered the stuff I told Clifford (Amish Builder) I said to Clifford We're not in any hurry !!! Marti was ready to kill me. We have ordered an Entrainment Center, two end tables, Kitchen Table with four chairs, a Sewing Table for Marti and a Computer Table for Me to write this Crap.

100_2395 This was Goshen In. No Clifford is from Arcola IL. There is no Lowes stores in their area. Well at least not riding distance.

Well they said 4 weeks for delivery, that was 2 weeks ago, but. Their quality is worth the wait. Clifford built our Kitchen Cabinets and they are Gorgeous !!! Their Workmanship is the Best. Clifford said maybe in two more weeks, well you just can't Rush the Amish. Maybe that's a good thing, but this orange crate I have to sit on is getting wore out.

Meandering Down a Road to No Where

We we were at three rallies in the Elkhart In. area this last couple weeks. We took some side trips to Nowhere, just a ride in the country. We started out to fill the new Wine rack at home with some private blends of wine. We never found an open Vinery with a store. We took some Odd

pictures from Back Roads with some neat stuff. We saw along the way.

100_2393 100_2392 100_2382

Well it was just an excuse to drive and sight see our great country. Marti and I seem to have a good time just driving. looking and laughing at some of the goofiest stuff in the yards. While most of the time we forget the camera. MJ gave us her hand me down camera along with our old Point’n shoot Camera. The other day I bought a Nikon Coolpix camera now just learn how to us it. Well the joint did give lessons, but we don’t need No Stink in Lessons !!!   The first picture was a baby sub. then an anchor and a large Baseball. The last one was  at a metal workers plant it looked neat too.

Small Town …….. Desoto Mo.

.

We had a sad trip to Desoto Mo. this week. We had to say Good Bye to one of our Dear Friends. Agnes Warden always had a Smile and Laugh.  Agnes will be missed by all. We PA130092met Joe and Agnes when in the Cardinal RV Club. We had Joe and Ag to our house when we were all going to Mackinaw Mi. I think the neighbors thought we had opened a Campground in our yard.
We met Joe & Agnes at a trip to Branson Mo 3 years ago. Along with Ten or more other couples. Joe and Agnes were the nicest couple, they treated each with the utmost of respect, what a great couple. I guess that’s why we love the RVing Life style.

We drove down to Desoto Mo. on Thursday a nice ride thru the rolling hills of Mo. The town was built on a hill that was really steep and some great turns. A cool old town that was busy in the fifty’s. Looks like the Railroad was the main business in the town.  The old homes are well kept  neat, some were over a hundred years old.

One thing I never saw before, when the funeral procession drove the oncoming traffic all pulled to the side of the road and stopped for the funeral. I thought that was really nice and have never saw that before. Thanks for that Desoto !!!! a Real Town that never Forgot !!!! The service was held at the Catholic Church that Joe and Agnes went to and were Married in. The church was over 100 yrs old. I thought it was like walking back into history. Yet the church looked like it was brand new. I guess that's Small Town Pride !!!
Rest in Peace Agnes you will be Truly Missed

Marti’s Driving School

Well Saturday was Marti’s Big Day !!!! Marti changed seats in the Black Pig, she went thru a driver course with the 40 ft 5th wheel trailer. Well she started out hooking up the 5th wheel. Then she drove out of the park I was sitting in the rear seat with Yogi we were both Good. Marti drove over to a local shopping mall. Well most of the stores had moved so this was the perfect spot. Frank the instructor laid out a back-up course for Marti to back into. Well unlike my driving Frank doesn’t believe in going forward to correct. Frank taught us to correct with the truck in reverse. Marti had the Black Pig going all over WOW !!! 100_2340     Frank showed Marti what she would be doing as she drove.100_2341  Marti asking Frank  you want me to do What ????

Well I learned a lot from Frank myself too. 100_2346  100_2342

Marti really did great too she has gained a lot of confidence with driving the trailer too. She drove the combo unit on streets & highways. 100_2354   100_2367
