Mini Family Reunion

Well here in Texas we had a Dahlman Family reunion. We met up with Cousin Rick & Linda earlier. We moved up toward Houston to visit Uncle Ray & Aunt Ginny. We set up camp about a mile from their house. We had many laughs with the seniors. They told us about all the senior discounts in the area. Sunday we all went out for dinner to a local restaurant. Rick & Linda came along with Bou their son and their lovely daughter Tiffany. Cousin Butch along with Ray the 3rd and his wife and son Ray the
4th. I thought that was pretty cool. Well we sure had a good time in the Houston area. We can't wait till next to roll back.

Tour an OffShore Oil Platform

Saturday we were exploring the Galveston area. We found an Offshore Drilling Rig. They had tours of this mammoth beast I was up for anything that didn't include shopping. We walked or climbed up and down every where. The displays were great too some movies and alot of pictures. Marti sat in the drillers chair but never struck Oil, poor girl is no Jed Clampet (Beverly Hillbillies). You really get a lot of appreciation for a gallon of Gas.

Sight Seeing with MJ

Well we went sight seeing with MJ. We went to a Nature reserve at Aransas Pass. We looked for the mighty Whooping Cranes NOPE sorry. Well wonder if there are any Alligators YEP!!! We spotted a couple, they were sleeping or waiting for a tourist to come with in eating range. People taste Like Chicken!!!!
We took MJ on a ferry ride and drove on the beach for about 20 miles.(glad the Black Pig has 4WD) We saw all the kids parting on the beach and driving up and down the sand trails.
MJ wanted to go shopping so Marti volunteered to go with her. (go figure) I waited in the truck with Yogi as we people watched. We hit a few restaurants some Barbecue and Sea Food. We think Mj had a good time with us seniors too.

Sixty Candles WOW I'm getting Old

Well March 13th was my Sixth Birthday HEY I made it to Sixty!!!! Friday the 12th started out OK. I was feeling down as it was Moms birthday. After all these years I still miss her. Well my Cousin Rick and his Lovely bride Linda were meeting us for dinner at a joint called Moon Dogs. Rick was late go figure (right) Well they show up with MJ our baby!!! MJ flew in to be with Dear Old Dad now wasn't that Special!!! I was blown away I had No Idea. We had a great dinner and they came back to see our Camper. We BS ed till midnite which is way past my bed time. Sunday we drove up to Rick & Linda's Bay House for a Great Mexican Lunch by Chef Rick (The Guy can Cook)
Little Meemer was here till Thursday we felt sad to see her go but we knew she had to get back to work. Linda drove MJ to the airport and hubby Son E Boy met her on the Cold end (Chicago) Poor Mark had to stay home to Dog sit. Thanks Son E Boy for holding down the Homestead.

Touring the Areas of Texas

We have been driving the back roads of the Aransas Pass and surrounding areas. We spotted an off-shore drilling rig. The rig was loaded on a ship for transport. To load this monster they sink the ship and load the rig. I was amazed something this big can float. We stopped to build a sand castle too. Enjoy Wayne

Oyster Fest Texas Style !!!!!!!

Well Saturday was Oyster Fest Texas style. We went to the Fulton Volunteer Fire Dept. Oyster Fest. Saturday was a great day weather wise so every one was there. We saw some of the biggest Cowboy Hats and some large Tatoos too. Well to say the joint was crowded was just an understatement!!!! I don't do well in crowds any more unless they are all giving me a Dollar. LOL We couldn't get close to the Oysters, Raw or Fried. We gave up after about a half hour. We did tour the craft tent but nothing caught Marti's Eye !! O'Well I win again.

Island Shopping Fun Fun Fun!!!!!!!

Well today was a Shopping Day so we went Island Shopping. Well Ms Marti looked at Jewelry, Donuts, Pottery, and Stuff. We didn't buy Nothing except Lunch (Brisket) sandwich & fries. The ferry ride seemed like the best deal (free). But us two seniors had a great time. I just have to wonder what tomorrow will bring ? Laundry

Yogis Day at Doggie Day Care

Yesterday was Yogis day (Finally ) We took him to Mack Forty Kennels. Yogi ran around in the 4 acre fenced lot, o'ya it also had a 1 acre pond some 26 ft deep. Well as you can see he had a good time. After swimming and running around for two hours he was one tired Puppy. Hope you enjoy the pictures as we are enjoying our stay in Texas. Comments Please, Dogs too!!!!
